Villa Group Timeshare and Eagle’s Wings

Villa Group timeshare and Eagle’s Wings Foundation are closely connected. The Eagle’s Wings Foundation is a registered charity that supports projects in Mexico in some of the poorest areas, and the Villa Group timeshare division is one of the major supporters of the charity along with Universal Vacation Club (UVC). The foundation was launched in 1999 by Jim McCarthy in conjunction with Universal Vacation Club, the company that administers timeshare ownership for The Villa Group to give timeshare owners the opportunity to give back to the communities where they own timeshare properties in Mexico.

The idea of the Eagle’s Wings Foundation is to raise money and encourage donations from Villa Group timeshare members to help support local programs and charitable ventures in each of the destinations where the Villa Group timeshare division has resorts. Destinations such as Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, Loreto, Cabo San Lucas and Cancun are targeted for Eagle’s Wings Foundation grants and funding in accordance with local strategies and charitable programs to help the poorest in the local communities.

The Eagle’s Wings Foundation receives executive support and legal advice from Universal Vacation Club as well as Villa Group in addition to donations. Villa Group timeshare members are encouraged to make donations either directly or by leaving unused coins in a collection box in the lobby of each Villa del Palmar resort in Mexico. Other types of donations such as pencils, books, paper etc are welcomed as well as members’ time for those who wish to volunteer. The Eagle’s Wings Foundation has also been fortunate enough to receive larger donations such as an ambulance and school bus.

Another way that Villa Group timeshare and Eagle’s Wings Foundation work together is in the running of a large bazaar. When items such as mattresses, pillows, toasters, microwaves, bedside tables etc are upgraded in the suites at the Villa del Palmar resorts, the items are sold at a very low price in a local bazaar. All the money goes back into the Eagle’s Wings Foundation to support projects while the local community gain access to items in good condition at a very cheap cost.

Finally, the Eagle’s Wings Foundation was one of the timeshare industry’s first philanthropic projects, paving the way for other such charitable ventures supported by timeshare companies and their members
