After a brief closure due to COVID-19, businesses in Mexico are starting to reopen. Many new safety measures have been implemented so that visitors will be safe. The local landmarks, beaches, and resorts had to temporarily close so that virus transmission would be limited. The number of new cases declined, and now businesses are slowly opening back up. They have new health and safety standards in place to keep visitors and workers healthy and safe. The World Tourism Organization, along with 200 plus travel companies, came together to develop the Safe Travel Stamp, which will help people choose where they can go on vacation safely. The Safe Travel Stamp award winner went to Jalisco where Puerto Vallarta is located, along with Riviera Nayarit and other top tourist destinations in Mexico, too.
- Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco – Rich Heritage
Jalisco has a rich heritage and is well known for their famous tequila and mariachi music. Some of the most popular beaches can be found in Puerto Vallarta, which is why so many visitors vacation in the area. Puerto Vallarta has miles of beautiful beaches, numerous activities outdoors, fine dining and great shopping. The local businesses in Puerto Vallarta are reopening in June 2020, and will be following strict guidelines. That way, visitors and staff will be safe. While you are on vacation in Puerto Vallarta, you should still wear masks in public places, wash your hands often, and avoid going to places that are crowded.
- Riviera Nayarit – A Popular Vacation Destination
Riviera Nayarit, Mexico was one of the first states to get the Safe Travels Stamp award. Riviera Nayarit is north of Puerto Vallarta, and the Nuevo Vallarta upscale neighborhood and many wonderful resorts are located there. If you are ready to start planning a vacation to Mexico, then you will be pleased to know that the local businesses have the highest levels of hygiene standards in place. On June 15th 2020, the Nayarit government announced that hotels, resorts, and motels could reopen, but they will only initially operate at 30% capacity. That way, they can make sure the reopening is a success. Along with Jalisco and Riviera Nayarit, several other popular vacation destinations in Mexico have also been awarded the Safe Travels Stamp, too.
